2 for 2

How many times do you here the whispers in your head "What if"?

It comes in many forms, such as
How come?
Why not?
How about?
Are you kidding?

Whichever way you hear it, it's a form of double-guessing you and wondering, most often needlessly, "what if"?

So, this week's challenge is to give it up!

Have you ever played the game when someone asks a room filled with people to write two of their biggest problems down on a piece of paper, put them into the "magic" hat, and when their hand leaves the hat they will no longer have those problems?

Very quickly everyone runs their two sheets into the hat. When the room is done, there's silence.

Then, the moderator finally states, "In order to get rid of your problems, you must pull out two problems at random. So, who's ready to start?"

"What!? You tricked us"!

"No, I said 'when your hand leaves the hat' I didn't say 'once it leaves the hat' or 'when' it would be. So, who's up for the challenge"?

The three times I ran into this game, no one ever got up to take on someone else's problems.

Now whispering in your head are uncontrollable thoughts of:
"What if my spouse's sickness turned into my spouse's death?"
"What if my disability went from partial to permanent?"
"What if my limited salary was cut into half?

These "What if's?" really mattered this time, huh?

It's always better to keep your own problems than to take someone else's, especially if its from a stranger, who you have no idea how bad their problems can be.

So, let's get rid of those controllable "what if" whispers in our own heads, and change them into positive affirmations and/or good thoughts.

Here's a short list:
A prayer of thanks
A sigh of relief
A grin of security
A hum of happiness
A moment of silence

Whatever you chose, may your 2 work for you!
